Colour Matching

Getting the right colour is not guesswork. We match inks for t-shirts, uniforms and event wear so your brand colours stay consistent from the first print to the last.

Matched Inks For Consistent Brand Colour

Our colour matching service is built for businesses, schools and event teams that need printed apparel to look right every time. We work from your approved brand references, garment colours and artwork files to select inks that print cleanly on cotton and poly cotton fabrics. The aim is strong, even colour with good coverage, so your logo reads clearly from a distance and still looks neat up close.

In practice, that means we do not just pick a colour that looks close on screen. We check how the ink behaves on the actual garment, because white, navy, black and heather materials all affect the final print. If your order includes different shirt shades or mixed sizes for a school, club or staff team, we keep the ink choice consistent across the run so the set looks uniform.

  • Ink selection for light and dark garments
  • Brand colour checks against supplied references
  • Suitable for logos, names, crests and back prints
  • Works for small runs and bulk orders

What Is Included In The Service

Colour matching is more than a visual comparison. It includes artwork review, test alignment where needed, ink selection, print checks and final approval before the full run goes ahead. If a logo has several colours, we separate each ink layer so the printed result stays sharp and does not muddy at the edges.

For orders sent in from Bloemfontein, Hamilton, Botshabelo, Thaba Nchu, Welkom, Bethlehem, Kroonstad and Parys, we also factor in courier timing and pack the order carefully once the prints are approved. For coastal and humid conditions elsewhere in South Africa, we adjust curing and storage handling so the print holds up well after delivery. It helps to avoid colour shifts caused by rushed drying or heat exposure.

  • Artwork check and file cleanup
  • Ink mix selection for brand consistency
  • Test print or press check on request
  • Final quality check before packing
  • Individual bagging available for staff and event packs

How We Get The Colour Right

We start with your artwork and any colour reference you can supply, such as a logo file, existing shirt sample or previous print. If there is a specific shade you need, we compare the artwork against the chosen garment and decide whether the ink needs to be adjusted for opacity, brightness or warmth. Some colours need a stronger underbase on dark fabric, while others need a softer mix to avoid looking too heavy.

Once the mix is agreed, the production team prepares the screens and checks registration so every layer lands where it should. This matters on fine text, school crests and smaller front logos where one small shift can change the whole look. Our quality control team then checks the first pieces before the run continues. It is careful work, but it keeps the consitency where it should be.

  • Step 1: Review artwork and garment choice
  • Step 2: Select ink formula for the fabric type
  • Step 3: Check first print for tone, coverage and alignment
  • Step 4: Continue with approved production
  • Step 5: Inspect, bag and dispatch

Turnaround For Small Runs And Bulk Orders

Turnaround depends on order size, artwork complexity and whether the garments are already on hand, but we keep the process practical and time conscious. Small runs are often turned around faster, while larger uniform or event orders need more setup and drying time. For urgent school or event work in Bloemfontein and nearby areas, tell us your deadline early so we can advise what is possible.

We also plan around load-shedding and drying conditions, especially when printing heavier ink coverage or multi colour designs. That helps prevent delays and gives the print time to cure properly. For couriered orders nationwide, we allow enough time for production, final checking and dispatch so the goods arrive ready to use, not needing extra handling once they reach you.

  • Small runs for names, small staff groups and trial orders
  • Bulk production for uniforms, events and schoolwear
  • Rush planning available by arrangement
  • Courier delivery across the Free State and nationwide

Pricing Approach That Keeps Things Clear

Pricing for colour matching is based on the print setup, number of colours, garment type, order quantity and artwork prep required. A single-colour logo on a standard cotton t-shirt is priced differently from a multi colour crest on a dark uniform shirt. If your files need cleanup or a colour reference must be recreated, that is included in the quote so there are no surprises later.

For bigger orders, the unit price usually improves as the quantity rises. That helps schools, clubs, companies and event organisers plan budgets properly. We are happy to quote on mixed sizes, and we can also price separate pack-downs, individual bagging and dispatch if you need items sorted for branches or teams.

  • Quoted by artwork, garment type and quantity
  • No guesswork on setup and colour preparation
  • Better unit pricing on larger quantities
  • Optional sorting and bagging for easy distribution

Care, Maintenance And Reprint Timing

Good colour matching does not stop at the press. To keep printed apparel looking fresh, we recommend washing garments inside out in cold water and avoiding harsh bleach or direct ironing over the print. That is especially important for uniforms and sportswear used weekly, where repeated washing can affect appearance over time.

For maintenance intervals, most teams and businesses should review heavily used garments after about 20 to 30 washes, or sooner if the item sees hard use in sun, dust or frequent laundering. If you need repeat orders for staff changes, new learner intake or seasonal events, it is best to keep the original print reference on file. That makes reorders faster and helps keep the brand colour aligned from batch to batch.

  • Wash inside out with cold water
  • Avoid bleach and harsh tumble drying
  • Store printed garments out of direct sun
  • Review high-use items after 20 to 30 washes

Questions we get asked

Can you match a colour from an old shirt or sample?

Yes. If you have a physical sample, previous print or brand reference, we can work from that and adjust the ink to suit the fabric.

Does colour matching work on dark garments?

Yes. Dark garments usually need a different ink build and sometimes an underbase so the colour stays bright and readable.

Do you handle mixed sizes and separate packing?

Yes. We can sort sizes, bag items individually and prepare packs for staff, learners or event teams.
